About Me
Hello! I'm Charlie, or as I'm known on social media and the Doctor Who forums, 'CharlieTheWhovian'.

I'm a 19 year old writer based in London, still trying to make it as a professional whilst navigating university and everyday life. This website is a work in progress for me to showcase my writing abilities and share my passions with whoever is interested.

If you couldn't tell by this point, a large part of my life is Doctor Who. It's been my greatest passion since it came back to screens in 2005 when I was only 3, and is one of my greatest inspirations when it comes to my writing.

Since the age of 5, I've wanted to be a writer, making little Doctor Who books in my free time, writing and illustrating my own stories. My first writing available to the public was a story I wrote in Reception about a magic ring used to travel back to the time of dinosaurs, that was displayed in the main office.
Whilst at school I developed a love of history too, which led to me branching into historical fiction, writing tales set during the height of the Black Death and the Second World War.

Learning about the superstitious cultures of the past also fed an interest in the supernatural, which inspired a number of short ghost stories.
My Influences
My writing dabbles with a variety of genres just as Doctor Who does. Its undoubtedly one of my main sources of inspiration and alongside other books, films and TV shows has nurtured my particular interests in the genres of sci-fi, horror, fantasy, thrillers and historical fiction.

One of the things that are important to me is that as much as my writing should be to entertain or evoke emotion, it should be used to reflect and help tack real world issues. In a world that grows more dystopian by the day, I also want to raise attention to the environmental issues we face.
​
All writers draw inspiration from personal experience but as someone who grew up struggling with their identity, I have a strong focus on LGBT issues and mental health which can be seen in several prominent characters within my texts. This site is a safe space for all and I hope my writing is accessible for everyone too. Black Lives Matter, Trans Rights are Human Rights and Love is Love!
